| Why Standardisation? |
 |
 |
 |
Standardisation ensures that the extract
always contains exactly the same amount of active substances - a basic requirement
for a constant effect of the finished product and for clinical studies.
The extraction method is a crucial factor for the composition of the extract.
In extracts produced by different extraction methods different compounds
may be present in varying concentrations. Thus, the pharmacological activity
of an extract mainly depends on the extraction method used.
When choosing a herbal supplement brand, remember that you are buying an
extract, not a plant. A common misperception is that all products containing
the same plant must be the same.
Consider, for example, the winemaking process. A wine produced by a company
on the east side of a hill might taste dramatically different from one produced
by another company on the west side of the same hill. The same potential
holds true for herbal medicinal products. Many variables can change according
to growing conditions, harvesting and manufacturing differences. In order
to control for these variables, Pharmaton standardises its extract and quality
process.
What can a consumer do to avoid the problems of inconsistent extracts? Simple.
Buy a brand such as Pharmaton®, which is manufactured using the
standardised ginseng extract G115®, prepared according to strict guidelines
to ensure exact standardisation. You can be assured that the product you
take is the same as the one tested in several clinical studies. Pharmaton® contains the most clinically tested ginseng extract in the world
and has proven safety and efficacy - do not accept substitutes!
